Frank and Bette Paul 32o Masonic Learning Center for Children

11th Anniversary Gala & Fundraiser

Sunday, October 26, 2006

Casa Larga Vineyards

2287 Turk Hill Road, Fairport, NY

2:00 – 5:00 PM

Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s 10th anniversary celebration, the Learning Center Board of Governors is planning to hold the 11th Anniversary gala and fundraiser for the Rochester Learning Center again at Casa Larga Vineyards on Sunday, October 26, 2008 .

Last year over 80 people joined in the celebration. Everyone had a wonderful time, and this year’s event promises to be even better!

There will be a number of “food stations” featuring freshly made pasta dishes, carved meats, salads, desserts, and an open bar.  The program will highlight the accomplishments of the Learning Center and recognizing those who have helped to make it a success.

In addition to a live and a silent auction, great food, scenery and fellowship, a highlight of this year’s Anniversary Gala will be the raffling of a quilt that was designed and made by the children and tutors of the Rochester Learning Center (see photo)!  The price of a quilt ticket is $5.  Our goal is to sell 1000 tickets.  Quilt tickets are available through the Valley of Rochester Office, phone 585-264-1160, e-mail:  secretary@valleyofrochester.org.

As part of the program, there will also be an opportunity to make a donation to the Learning Center. It costs approximately $5,000 per year to tutor one child, and we currently have a wait list of over 40 children! All monies raised will go directly to the support of tutoring services at the Frank and Bette Paul 32o Masonic Learning Center for Children.

The 32o Masonic Learning Centers for Children provide clinically-proven dyslexia tutoring services across the country.  They are the only nationwide organization offering two years of intensive one-on-one tutoring in the proven Orton-Gillingham method, completely free of charge.  The Learning Centers are open to all children.  While dyslexia can’t be cured, it can be overcome.  The program offered at the 32o Masonic Learning Centers for Children provides the most effective treatment of its kind in battling this reading disorder.  No other organization in the nation has a program remotely like it, with one-on-one, professional tutoring offered to children at no charge to them or their families; this type of program is not available through any other school (public or private).  Currently, there are 58 Learning Centers in 15 states of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Additional information about the 32o Masonic Learning Centers for Children, is available on the Valley of Rochester’s web site, http://www.valleyofrochester.com/charities.cfm.

Please join us in the celebration of the accomplishments of the Learning Center on October 26, and help us to expand the wonderful services the Learning Center provides to the children right here in our own community!

As Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” On behalf of the children in our community, thank you for your generous support of the Frank and Bette Paul 32o Masonic Learning Center for Children!
